Midland: Expert Hearing Care expands into Midland Gate Shopping Centre

Kristie LimEastern Reporter

EXPERT Hearing Care owner Amit Sahni says his newly-opened Midland clinic will service clients from the Perth Hills and Wheatbelt, who previously had to travel to the Morley clinic.

Mr Sahni, who is a university-trained audiologist with more than 15 years of experience in hearing care, testing and the fitting of digital hearing aids, started his business in 2012.

He has since opened branches in Morley, Joondalup, Applecross, Warnbro and Mandurah.

The Midland clinic, located in Midland Gate Shopping Centre, was officially opened by Hasluck MHR and Senior Australians and Aged Care Minister Ken Wyatt on October 5.

Mr Sahni said the new clinic would make it easier for residents from Northam, Toodyay and York, who would shop at Midland Gate.

“Additionally, the lack of atruly independent provider of hearing clinic in Midland prompted us to have a clinic here,” he said.

“Lack of independence means seniors and pensioner are not offered the range as per their needs and hearing loss and rather fitted with hearing devices manufactured by the chain clinic owned by that manufacturer only.”

He said they would offer fully subsidised digital hearing aids under hearing services program of the Commonwealth of Australia, as well as tinnitus management and paediatric assessments.

“Digitalisation of hearing aids have made them smaller, quite discreet and accurate and much better performing in background noises and crowds,” he said.

Mr Wyatt, who is also Minister responsible for Australian hearing services, hoped through Expert Hearing Care, more people would have hearing tests.

“Complete or partial deafness can rob us of independence, self-esteem, learning capacity and the ability to socialise and communicate with others, but having a simple hearing test can prevent many of these problems,” he said.
