THE Square Mirrabooka is celebrating its 40th birthday this week.

Since its opening in 1978, the centre has developed a focus on the diverse and multicultural community.

Owned by Perron Group, the centre won awards for excellence in marketing and management at the WA Property Council Awards in September.

The celebrations will start with twilight markets on October 4 and there will also be fresh food markets, face-painting and roving entertainment on October 6.

As part of the celebrations, shoppers who spend $45 or more can receive a gift from the customer services desk or management office from October 1 to 5.

Centre manager Allana Edwards said the centre would continue to focus on catering for people living and working in the area.

“We’re proud to be celebrating this landmark in our centre’s history and marking 40 years as an integral part of the local community,” she said.

“Over the years, The Square Mirrabooka has seen a number of changes, each one designed to ensure that the shopping centre continues to meet the needs of local shoppers and residents.”
