A FREE flowing Prosecco and spritz European-style fountain is the star attraction at Perth’s latest brunch-spot The Globe.
The popular drinking and dining space, which is a favourite for Friday-night drinks introduced the brunch event last week.
Already proving to be a hit with brunch-goers the venue recently changed event hours from a two-hour event on Sunday to it now being held Saturdays and Sundays.
Brunch, a New York institution has become a favourite past-time for Australians and with bottomless options all the rage, it’s becoming the go-to catch up for Aussie foodies.
On arrival patrons are served a peach iced tea cocktail and can then treat themselves (for $49), with something from the Something Sweet menu.
This includes home-made granola, yoghurt sorbet, seasonal fruit, fluffy vegan pancakes , maple glaze, chocolate, fresh berry compote or French toast, candied banana, crispy bacon, walnut and espresso ice cream.
Those looking to sink their teeth into other breakfast menu items the Something Savoury menu has traditional favourites including eggs your way, a bacon butty burger with waffle fries, smashed avocado or a soft poached egg, grilled chorizo, tomato relish, whipped feta on toast.
I settled for the eggs your way but will be coming back for something a little fancier next time, because let’s face it, this visit wasn’t about the food , it was all about the star of the show – the free-flowing European-style fountain.
Modelled on the old-style drinking fountains in many European villages, it brought back memories of the one my Avó (grandmother) had next door to her house in Madalena do Mar, Madeira, Portugal.
Now if only I can get one installed at home!
