May Street Larder to open second location

Belinda CiprianoEastern Reporter

NORTH of the river foodies won’t need to travel to East Freo for a Soul Sandwich when the owners of May Street Larder open a second venue at The Mezz on Friday March 15.

Co-owner Eamon Sullivan said while he initially hesitated on whether or not to open a second location, he decided to jump at the opportunity after being approached by The Mezz management.

“I’m a local and The Mezz is just down the road,” he said.

“I know firsthand how great the community in Mount Hawthorn and North Perth is and I feel that May Street Larder has a lot to contribute.”

May Street Larder’s menu, created by executive chef and co-owner Scott Bridger, strives for balance and serves up a mixture of healthy, convenient and delicious food with a few indulgences.

The May Street Larder staples, including beef brisket hash, breakfast burrito and vegan bircher have made the cut, along with their famous Soul Sandwich.

The rest of the opening menu will be new additions, bulked out with a cabinet of fresh salads, gourmet sandwiches, croissant and house made sausage rolls and pies.

“Our food direction will be on point with the original May Street Larder ethos of locally sourced, community-based food with a naughty and nice theme – that is to say there is something for everyone whether you are feeling like a treat or looking for something healthier,” Bridger said.

The new venue is child-friendly with a custom-made, interactive play area in one end of the function room.
