KASEY Chambers is like a kid on Christmas Eve talking about her upcoming A Day on the Green tour with Paul Kelly , Lucinda Williams and Marlon Williams.
“I’ve done A Day on the Green’s before, which have been a whole lot of fun and I would have said ‘yes’ to any offer,” the mother of three said.
“But this one is extra special for me because it’s my two most favourite artists in the world.

READ NOW“Lucinda has been my biggest female role model in music my whole life so I would be going to these gigs anyway; it’s just awesome I get free tickets.
“And then Paul Kelly has been my biggest Australian influence in music.”
Chambers said she had been invited to the line-up via email and when her brother and manager Nash gave her the news, she responded: “even if this costs us money, we are doing the tour”.
Chamber’s history with her idol Williams includes having opened for the American singer songwriter for five weeks on her 2001 US Essence tour
“It was so inspiring getting to watch her every night and getting to know her as a person; she’s quite the character,” Chambers said.
“I toured over in the US in July and August this year and she came to my show in LA without me knowing . It was very humbling.”
Although Chambers will be spending most of her time in the audience, she said fans could expect a bit of everything from her set.
She is still promoting seventh solo studio album Bittersweet with many older hits.
“I don’t just play gigs to show off new songs, the main reason I play is because I love the connection between people who love music and what I get to do for a living,” Chambers said.
“I feel there’s still so much of a connection between playing those old songs when I get on stage.
“The Captain is still my favourite song to play every night and I just couldn’t imagine doing a gig without it.”
