A hand to better health

Staff ReporterEastern Reporter

The first free Better Health Program in Western Australia is a healthy lifestyle course for overweight seven to 13-year-olds and their families delivered from Term 3.

The program aims to support families to change their eating and exercise habits to improve the children’s fitness, physical activity levels, nutrition and self-esteem.

WA project manager Hayley Robertson said rather than focusing on weight loss, the program used a practical, interactive learning approach to teach children and parents weight management skills.
