AUTUMN/Winter style will be on display at Cockburn Gateway’s VIP panel event on Saturday, May 11.

The event, coinciding with Mother’s Day celebrations, will feature three inspiring Perth women set to reveal new-season wardrobe highlights, interior styling trends and work-life balance insights.

Former The Block contestant and interior designer Ebony Haythornthwaite will join resident stylist Claire Metcalf and Tanya Muia-Petkovic, owner of the label Infamous Friends. 96FM Breakfast presenter Lisa Fernandez will host the event.

Haythornthwaite, the owner of The Visionary Co, said she would be bringing to life a few elements of the new-season interior styling trends, which could be seen in retailers throughout autumn and winter.

“Coming into winter we will see retailers flooded with warm autumn tones, with khaki, mustard, terracotta, olive greens, rust, deep earthy tones and dirty peaches playing a pivotal role,” she said.

“These colours evoke a sense of warmth, relaxation and comfort, which are perfect for the cooler months.

“Other trends that will remain prominent into the upcoming season are warm metallics and pattern.

“Styling needs to be functional and it’s important to remember that styling pieces are what add soul to each room, so don’t throw away sentimental pieces.

“There is nothing wrong with mixing some pricier pieces in with the everyday affordable options.

“When paired correctly, a vintage, family heirloom can sit quite comfortably next to an Adairs cushion or Big W piece,” Ms Haythornthwaite said.

Cockburn Gateway marketing manager Kerrie Allen said the centre had worked with fashion, lifestyle and business experts to truly capture the essence of this season’s trends to suit all styles and needs.

“This autumn winter season we have collaborated with local and inspirational designers, stylists and entrepreneurs to curate a range of looks for all our customers, from busy active mums, to savvy professionals, to avid fashion watchers,” she said.

Tickets are $10, with 100 per cent of money raised from ticket sales going to local charity AYLA.

The AW19 VIP Panel Event will be held from noon to 1pm on Saturday, May 11.

Tickets include a high tea, fashion show and the VIP panel.
