EMBRACING the minimalist look and paying homage to the ’90s, the Barely-There sandal has taken Instagram by storm and is set to trend throughout summer.
Hobbs product manager Lucy Ahern said styles in-store included the heeled mule (her favourite), the lace-up sandal, strappy sandal on thin heels and block heels.
“I believe the trend originated from British fashion designer Phoebe Philo of Celine, but other designers quickly adopted it like The Row (founded foundered by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen) and also more commercial brands like By Far,” Ahern said.

“I personally like to wear it with a more midi dress or skirt and then balance the look out by having ‘barely’ anything on my feet.”
She added that the look was suited jeans.
Ahern also suggested having manicured nails with this look as feet would be exposed.
The sandals come in black, nude, white with hints of yellow and textured leathers such as snake.
Most are priced around $200.
