The challenge, which runs throughout August, encourages bloggers to pair up with an op shop retailer and shop and style different outfits following a daily style prompt listed on the Perth Fashion Festival website, and sharing their style interpretation with their Instagram, Twitter and Facebook followers.
Witty is one of seven Perth bloggers to be involved in the campaign, which will culminate in a catwalk show during this year’s fashion festival.
Witty said she was excited about being paired with Vinnies.
‘Vinnies do all kinds of great work,’ she said.
‘I shop at Vinnies, but really had no idea what kind of impact the Society has on those in need within our community.
‘To say that this project has been eye-opening and humbling is right on target.
‘In my world of fashion blogging, keeping in tune with some of these harsh realities is important to say the least.’
Witty has shopped at several of the Vinnies’ stores and was also given a tour of the Vinnies depot in Osborne Park, where all the goods are collected and distributed.
