Busy Bisley hosts acting workshop

Julian WrightEastern Reporter

COMING from a family of teachers, it is little surprise Australian actor Steve Bisley would host acting workshops to share his skills.

The acting veteran, NIDA graduate and AFI award winner, who starred in Mad Max and The Great Gatsby will squeeze a two-day workshop on August 29 and 30 into a break from shooting his latest film Boar.

The workshop will focus on monologues and will be co-hosted by WAAPA lecturer and actor/director Glenda Linscott.

"There were a couple of reasons why we chose to focus on monologues," he said.

"They are easier to learn and they only require one actor; when you have to team up it can be difficult.

"Monologues are like mini stories and they are terrific to work with and valuable."

Bisley said it was important to impart acting wisdom to the next generations.

"I come from a family of teachers so maybe it is in my blood," he said.

"For me it is just finding the time to do it."

The class will be held in Northbridge
