DESIGN duo Jo De Brito and Bridget Hudson will launch their Reign The Label Resort 2019/20 collection as part of a special event on Friday night at the Sappling Event Space in West Perth.

De Brito and Hudson, whose backgrounds include styling and decades in design, began working together in 2017 to emerge into a fashion powerhouse worn by lifestyle bloggers Amy Zemplias and Abbey Gelmi, along with other personalities.

Hudson, who is a stylist at Channel 7, said the latest collection featured evening and resort wear.

“Our evening-focused pieces are crafted from luxurious brocade and feature statement sleeves and the introduction of separates,” she said.

“Our resort collection brings the addition of our day to night pieces, which we have not previously featured before.

“We have been working on our own unique prints, and wanted to create pieces that have more versatility and allow the easy transition from day to evening.

“They still exude our trademark feminine, quality and colourful traits that are synonymous with Reign.”

Drawing inspiration from their surrounds and ‘the Reign woman’, Hudson said the latest collection was described best as enchanting.

“We have dreamed up an enchanted world where flowers are in abundance, exotic birds flit gracefully amongst the heavy aroma of beautiful blossoms,” she said.

“Animals that reign in the lush tropical jungles and sunsets that throws streams of golden light, bringing an air of enchantment.”

Currently selling the collection online, Hudson said the duo would look at placing their latest pieces in stores over the coming months and continue selling via appointment in their Leederville studio.

They also hope to grow the brand nationally.

“We will continue to expand our day-to-night wear, while working on some cocktail pieces for spring racing,” she said.

“We are creating some bold new prints for high summer and are looking forward to sharing those over the coming months.

“We are planning on establishing a national presence, and will take on anything and everything we can to make that happen.”
