Sara FitzpatrickEastern Reporter

WEMBLEY entrepreneur Iris Smit – known for her cult eyeliner stamp, The Quick Flick – is back with a new invention, Beauty Fridge.

A glamorous mini refrigerator for the bathroom or bedroom, it keeps skincare and cosmetics fresher for longer.

“Beauty Fridge was born out of an idea I had late last year when I noticed an increased trend in storing skincare products in regular kitchen fridges,” Smit said.

“People started buying small bar fridges for their bathrooms and I saw a gap in the market for a beautifully designed and packaged beauty fridge to house skincare and cosmetics.”

Smit’s top five spring skincare products stored in the Beauty Fridge for ultimate use

1. Sunscreen

It’s no secret that sunscreen should be worn every day to combat UV rays, which prematurely ages our skin.

I have always had issues finding the perfect sunscreen to match my skin type as most leave my skin oily and cause breakouts.

Top pick: Mecca Cosmetica – To Save Face SPF 30 Mineral Gel Cream.

Store in the Beauty Fridge to extend the shelf life and cool the application.

2. Face mask

Face masks make me feel like I am truly pampering myself.

Top pick: Lush – Don’t Look at Me face mask.

It deeply exfoliates while brightening the complexion.

Since it comprises natural ingredients, I recommend refrigeration to prevent bacterial growth and extend its usage.

3. Eye serum

Great for combating dark circles, fine lines and dehydration.

Top pick: Tribe Skincare – Let’s Roll! Hydrating Eye Serum.

It contains hyaluronic acid helping reduce wrinkles, and aloe vera to calm and hydrate the thin and delicate skin around the eyes.

Keep this cold to aid in reducing puffiness and encourage lymph drainage to minimise dark circles.

4. Face mist

As the weather warms, my skin needs a midday pick-me-up.

Top pick: Mario Badescu – Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater.

Infused with herbal and botanical extracts, it instantly hydrates, adds radiance and soothes tight skin.

Refrigerate for an extra cooling boost.

5. Jade roller

Used to combat puffiness and boost circulation and blood flow, giving a glow and encouraging skin cell rejuvenation.

I apply my favourite serum/cream and use my jade roller in an upwards motion, encouraging better absorption.

Top pick: Smit will release her own roller later in the year.

Ensuring it’s cold helps soothe and reduce inflammation, redness and puffiness.
