DINOSAURS have become a big part of Keith Brown’s life during the past six years.

The Showtime Attractions producer, responsible for Santa’s Magical Kingdom at Crown Pyramid in December and returning in 2017, will be back at the venue next month with interactive walk-through event Jurassic Creatures, featuring Prehistoric Creatures of the Ice.

“I wasn’t a big dinosaur fan but I’ve become a big dinosaur fan while working on this,” Brown said.

“We’ve developed our biggest dinosaur ever, an eight metre by 20m dinosaur for this show alone.

“We talked to a lot of people and palaeontologists to get the right information.

“I think that’s the fascination with dinosaurs in that our knowledge about them grows every year; we keep finding something new.”

Brown said the event, which features animatronic dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures of the ice, also had The Flintstones live stage show.

“It’s a new show being written for Perth with Fred Flintstone, Barney Rubble and Dino and we’re hoping we’ll get a visit from Wilma and Betty if they decide to stop shopping,” he said.

“We chose The Flintstones because it’s not just a children’s show; sometimes you see the grandpas walking through the door and wonder who is the one really coming to the show.”

The event will also have fossil displays, dinosaur art and craft, plus younger visitors can become a palaeontologist, wearing a science jacket and glasses to chip away with a hammer at an egg to find a dinosaur they can take home.

“The days have gone where you just go to an exhibition, pay a ticket price and are expected to walk through for 20 minutes and say goodbye,” Brown said.

“What we’re trying to do is give you an experience for the whole family which has a long duration and you get your money’s worth.

“Once you come through the door there’s lots of activations, lots of things to do, a bit of a musical production as well and you’re able to interact with everything.

“There could even be a dinosaur that gets loose during the event. We’ll see what happens.”
