Passion for food behind venture

The Cimbalino owner and business partner Matt Hayes said their passion for great food and coffee was what ultimately brought the hospitality duo back together following a 25-year friendship.

‘Matt and I had our eyes on this spot for a while and the second it came available I knew we had to snap it up,’ Murphy said.

‘Yabba Dabba was about answering the customer’s demands on having a place where they could bring their kids, have dinner with mates or just graze on a tasting plate while having a glass of red.’

Murphy said it was important to deliver a good product to the local community and it was something the establishment had already put into practise.

‘It’s a service we love to provide to people whether it’s their own custom coffee or their favourite pizza,’ he said

‘It’s about having a good product and good delivery of that product as well as creating a casual relaxed dining space.’

He said the family friendly eatery included signature dishes like the Yabba Dabba tasting plates.

And as for the name, well that according to Murphy comes from a recent visit to Melbourne. ‘It was a place that when you left you felt so good one of us said that place makes me want to go yabba dabba doo and so it was born,’ he said.
