SANTA’S MAGICAL KINGDOM

This Christmas-themed interactive and visual event is back for the festive season. The all-inclusive admission ticket includes a magical walk-through winter wonderland, a visit to Snow Land to meet the Snow Fairy, a free gift for children from Santa, arts and crafts activities, gingerbread decorating and 25-minute circus show.

BRASS ON THE GRASS

Head to the beautiful surrounds of Victoria Gardens to enjoy the charming sounds of the historic City of Perth Band as it performs Christmas concerts.

DETAILS: Victoria Gardens, East Perth, 6.30pm, December 6,13 and 20. Free event.

CHRISTMAS PROJECTIONS

Enchanting animated projections will light up the facade of St George’s Cathedral, enhancing the building’s features with colour.

DETAILS: St George’s Cathedral, Cathedral Square, each night from dusk until December 23. Free event.

PERTH HOME GROWN MARKETS

During December, the sustainable living markets will take on a festive flare featuring Christmas items, gifts and sweet treats.

DETAILS: Murray Street Mall, every Sunday except December 31. Free event.

SANTA’S ENCHANTED WARDROBE

With a nod to CS Lewis’ world of Narnia, this immersive theatre experience invites audience members to play a game of hide and seek before stepping through an enchanted wardrobe in to a fantasy world of falling snow, the White Witch, a magical forest, toy shop and Santa Claus.

CHRISTMAS CARNIVAL

The carnival is coming to town and it’s bringing a truckload of Christmas fun with it, including free rides and activities for the whole family to enjoy.

DETAILS: Forrest Place, Perth, 10am to 4pm, December 9 and 10. Free event.

WASO SYMPHONY IN THE CITY

Experience Perth’s largest classical music concert and enjoy a magical night under the stars. Audiences can expect music from Star Wars, Puccini’s Turandot, Strauss’ Die Fledermaus, Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture and much more.

DETAILS: Langley Park, East Perth, 7.30pm, December 16. Free event.

IGA CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT FOR VARIETY

Beginning with children’s rides and entertainment prior to the main concert, this traditional event is full of fun and musical joy. It will be hosted by Louise Momber and Michael Thomson with headline act Damien Leith. Other special guests will include Harrison Craig, Georgia Caceres, Susie Mathers, Chris and Courtney Murphy, Yasmin Kassim and the Variety Youth Choir. A 15-minute fireworks spectacular over the river starts at 9pm.

CHRISTMAS NATIVITY

At a new location in 2017, the Christmas Nativity will be brought to life on stage with hundreds of performers, live animals and Christmas carols. Bring your picnic rug and share in the story of Christmas.
