LIFE has been a whirlwind of child-rearing and renovations for Mt Lawley couple Ronnie and Georgia since competing on the 2017 season of The Block.

“We’re still very much working together, with Ronnie doing all of the construction side and I do the design,” Georgia said.

“It’s just go, go, go.”

After their success on The Block, Channel 9 offered the pair a contract to brainstorm new concept ideas.

The result was Quick Room Flips with Ronnie & Georgia, an eight-part web series, which follows them flipping eight rooms in eight Perth houses, including a master bedroom, nursery, living room, dining room, bathroom and outdoor area.

Each room flip was completed in a single day with a budget of $3500.

The first episode, filmed in Willagee, went online today with the remaining episodes uploaded weekly.

“Ronnie and I just love working under pressure and I think what the really relatable experience for the audience is that what we’re doing, you could do in a weekend,” Georgia said.

“Each episode sits between about 11 and 15 minutes.

“A lot of renovation shows make you sit there for an hour to see the before and after, whereas with ours it’s not a massive commitment and you get a lot of result out of it.”

Georgia said they put the callout for room renovation applications on their Instagram and helped the production team select from more than 400 responses.

“It was a Perth-based shoot, which was great for us because we have the kids and it’s hard enough getting a babysitter at the best of times,” Georgia said.

“We started filming this in September last year and we just finished yesterday, so they are editing as we speak.

“It sounds weird to say that we love being back in front of the camera, but we do love it.

“I think the takeaway is that renovation doesn’t have to be totally scary.

“We offer some great tips and tricks and how-to, so hopefully people are inspired to get out the paintbrush.

“If you’re creative and resourceful with your money, it doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg.”
