Style queens hold sale

One of the organisers of the Blogger Garage Sale will donate any unsold items to St Vincent de Paul.

Westminster blogger Bonnie Doran said she developed a close affiliation with St Vincent de Paul after her Perth Fashion Festival Restyle event.

‘This is all about making a conscious effort to pass on seldom worn clothing and accessories to people who will love and appreciate them,’ she said.

‘St Vincent de Paul is an organisation that I grew close to during my restyle challenge for Perth Fashion Festival in 2012 and my grandma has also been volunteering with Vinnies for as long as I can remember, so if they can benefit from this sale, everything will have been worthwhile.’

Ms Doran and 17 other fashion bloggers will be taking part in the garage sale. A similar event was held last year.

‘This year we decided to expand the event and invite all Perth bloggers to participate,’ Ms Doran said.

Ms Doran said instead of throwing last season’s pieces aside, the fashion bloggers decided to hold a market-style garage sale, offering their wardrobes to the public at reduced prices.

‘Between receiving pieces from local designers and trying to keep up with the latest trends for our readers, fashion bloggers can have a tendency to accumulate clothing and accessories,’ she said.

‘This allows us to meet some of our readers in person and give new life to the pieces that have been sitting at the back of our closets.’

Prices start from a couple of dollars for chain store and vintage pieces and $50-$100 for designer clothing and accessories.

– The Blogger Garage Sale is on April 27 from 10am to 4pm at 226 Ninth Avenue, Inglewood.
