Nissan boosts 2017 Pathfinder

NISSAN has boosted its Pathfinder for 2017 with improved looks and better in-car entertainment, performance and driveability – and kept the price at 2016 levels, starting at $41,990.

The Pathfinder now has a more handsome face with LED headlights, a neater tail and smart new wheel designs.

The ST, ST-L and Ti models offer buyers a choice of front or all-wheel drive, all continuously variable transmission.

The suspension has been tweaked and the steering ratio quickened for a better roadholding and a sportier drive and inside, Bluetooth music streaming is now standard on all models, along with voice control, two USB ports – three in the up-spec Ti – and an eight-inch colour touch screen display is now standard across the range.

There’s tri-zone climate control for the three rows of seats and the ST-L and Ti variants have heated and cooled front seats.

Standard oddments fare includes 10 cup holders, six bottle holders, four 12-volt power outlets and an underfloor storage area behind the third row of seats.

There’s also a new driver information display and smart key entry and Ti customers also get a memory function with their smart key, along with a tri-zone, 13-speaker entertainment system. New to the range is foot-operated motion activation for the tailgate.

All models get six airbags, a reversing camera and rear parking sensors and ST-L and Ti models come with emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, 360-degree views from around the car, blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

The 3.5 litre V6 petrol engine has been refurbished and now produces 202kW and 340Nm, 12kW and 15Nm up on the previous powerplant.

The $69,000 hybrid model’s drivetrain remains unchanged.
