SKODA has popped a slightly bigger engine into the top-ranging Outdoor 4×4 version of its Yeti to give it more performance without disrupting its fuel efficiency.
The regular Yeti has an 81kW 1.2litre turbo motor and is priced from $25,490, while the upgraded 4×4 Outdoor gets the 110kW 1.4litre turbo motor from Skoda’s Octavia and costs from $32,990.
Despite the extra whack, it uses an average 6.6litres/100km.
The Outdoor’s engine is paired to a six-speed DSG transmission and all-wheel-drive system.
The neat vehicle also gets hard-wearing black bumpers and underside protection for rough roads.
Completing the Yeti 4×4 Outdoor’s exterior design and separating it visually from the 1.2litre 81TSI models are the 17-inch ‘Erebus’ black alloy wheels and silver roof rails.
Inside, the Outdoor has a higher level of standard equipment, which includes climate control air conditioning, chrome inner door handles and black sills and it also comes with a ‘Navi Pack’, which comprises satellite navigation, metallic or pearl effect paint, front parking sensors, privacy glass and foglights.
