130 dogs tackle Canine Adventure Course in Morley

Toyah ShakespeareEastern Reporter

MORE than 130 dogs converged on Morley at the weekend, braving strong winds to take part in an epic adventure course.

Canine Adventure Course creator Laura Ryder ran the non-competitive obstacle course over two days at Morley Vetcentre, where she works as a dog trainer.

Ms Ryder said a wide range of dogs took part, from Yorkshire terriers to great danes.

“The ball pit (was a highlight), dogs were diving in sending balls flying everywhere, there were also several dogs that decided that they would pick up and take home a ball as a memento,” she said.

Ms Ryder said the oldest owner was a 93-year-old man who completed the course with a little fox terrier called Jackie, while a two-year-old participant helped dog Malani finish.

She said a coffee van served “Puppucinos” which were a hit.

Ms Ryder flew to Las Vegas this week to make a presentation about the Canine Adventure Course at a dog training conference.
