KIDS can channel their inner pirate while finding treasures at the City of Bayswater’s libraries to celebrate Children’s Book Week.

The week runs from August 18 to 24.

Fitting with this year’s theme ‘find your treasure’, Bayswater, Maylands and Morley libraries will host pirate-themed parties on August 25.

There will be face panting, pirate stories, crafts and best-dressed prizes.

Mayor Dan Bull said hundreds of students would visit the libraries for school excursions or with their families and friends during the week.

“Amidst all the excitement, Book Week is the ideal time to teach children the value and responsibility of having their own library card,” he said.
