Special projects and pathways programs co-ordinator Joe Moniodis said the funds would go towards programs that help children reach their full potential through sport, art and leadership.
The appeal has raised $5400 so far; the goal is for $50,000.
Based in Mirrabooka, the centre runs sport and leadership programs at the Butler Community Centre as well, including the Butler Falcons multicultural girls AFL team. Aged between eight and 18, the football players meet on Fridays between 7pm and 9pm, at the same time as a soccer program for five to 18-year-olds.
