ALLANAH Alvarado (18) has taken her love for softball around the world.
She was born and raised in the USA but has lived in Perth for the past five years.
Alvarado will head back to the states to complete a four-year softball scholarship at Utah State University.
“My goal has always been to play on the USA Olympic team,” she said.
“I have dual citizenship so I have the option of playing for Australia.”
The pitcher, who trains at Softball WA headquarters in Mirrabooka, does not leave until August, so she will have time to work on her skills before boarding the plane.
“I will continue to play because the state competition finishes in March; after that I will keep training until I have to go,” Alvarado said.
“We have had a really good season. Our team is ranked number one in the league; we have lost only two games .
“We won the 2012 and 2015 seasons.”
