Arson squad investigating two suspicious fires in Balga and Joondalup that damaged a home and BMW

POLICE are investigating two unrelated fires within 24 hours over the Christmas period in the northern suburbs.

Several fire units were called to a house fire in Favell Way, Balga, about 5pm on Christmas Day.

Firefighters put out the blaze and hosed down a car at the back of the property.

No-one was injured and police temporarily closed a section of Beach Road.

Arson Squad detectives called for information about a car fire in a building basement carpark on Grand Boulevard, Joondalup, on Boxing Day at 2am.

Department of Fire and Emergency Services officers reported the BMW fire to police.

A Subaru was also damaged in the fire along with the building’s sewer pipes.
