Baby ashes stolen

PROPERTY was stolen from a Noranda house on May 4 including the ashes of a baby.

A police spokeswoman said between 7:30am and 5:45pm offender(s) broke into the Hayden Close home rummaging through draws and cupboards.

“The offender(s) stole various items including the ashes of a baby,” she said.

“The ashes were in a silver/white hand size box, with a rainbow butterfly image on it and wrapped in a white drawstring bag.

“The drawstring bag looks similar to a jewellery bag and this may be why it was taken.”

The spokeswoman said the family was distraught by the theft of the ashes and are hoping they will be returned.
