Baby boy born into a leap year

Although their baby was due on March 3, Lalji and Dhanvantiben Halai expected him to arrive early.

The boy, who they had not named when the Reporter went to print, was born weighing 2.59kg and measuring 50.5cm about 9.22am on February 29.

“It’s a lucky date,” his father said.

With the leap year date only appearing every four years, Mr Halai said they had not yet thought about when they would celebrate their first child’s future birthdays.
