Ballajura Xmas lights display a bright light for Starlight Foundation

Kristie LimEastern Reporter

A BALLAJURA resident has continued a family tradition of lighting up his street with a home-themed Christmas lights display.

Chad Godley (24) took two months to complete a display of 60,000 lights at 6 Heron Close.

He will be holding a fundraising event on December 23, with proceeds going to the Starlight Foundation.

Mr Godley said he started helping his family when he was 15.

“This year’s main feature is a lounge room that we changed the garage into,” he said.

“It has got a candy man with trains and rides.

“In the background of it, there is a kitchen, TV, coffee table and a couch.

“We have also got a polar bear, a carousel and a runway.”

Mr Godly said he was motivated to continue doing the display as there were not many people under the age of 35 who set up Christmas lights.

The display will run until December 31.
