BASSENDEAN Bowling Club is calling on keen bowlers of all abilities to join its pennants season.

The season started last month with club patron and Bassendean MLA Dave Kelly rolling the first bowl to open the season.

Club representative Simon Alden said the club recruited new bowlers this year and was fielding a ladies side for the first time in several years.

β€œThe club has also seen many new bowlers try bowls for the first time this year,” he said.

β€œ(We) encourage more members of the community to consider lawn bowls as an option if they want to try a sport that is competitive, tactical, skillful but also fun and a place where people can enjoy each other’s company on a regular basis, for both males and females of any age.”

For information, call the club on 9279 1949.
