BASSENDEAN councillors approved an application for eight units on Second Avenue at a meeting on October 25 after initially rejecting it in November last year.
The State Administrative Tribunal (SAT) invited the council to reconsider its refusal to grant planning approval for amended plans submitted by applicants Spagnolo Property No.1 Pty Ltd.
The amended plans included variations to the residential design codes, lot boundary setback, outdoor living areas and overshadowing.

READ NOWPlans include the construction of pedestrian paths, incorporation of public art and several parking arrangements be put in place.
However, councillor Paul Bridges said the applicants should have finalised the design guidelines before it went before council.
“I am unhappy with the parking bays at numbers six and eight… people would have to do a three-point-turn just to reverse out of their driveway,” he said.
“Garden beds would also be reversed onto.”
Cr Bridges said the Town should not approve proposals with multiple dwellings because the Town was in the process of amending its Local Planning Scheme.
