Bassendean lifts to be improved

THE lifts at Bassendean train station will be upgraded, in a bid to reduce the number of lift outages.

Works to replace the door parts of three lifts with newer components will start on February 3.

Components of the lift doors will be replaced with more robust parts.

Lifts will be taken out of service one at a time, starting with the lift on the Railway Parade side of the station, followed by the Guildford Road and station’s central platform lifts.

The stairs will remain open for the duration of the works.

The repair work is expected to be completed by late February.

The Public Transport Authority encourages passengers with accessibility requirements to use Bayswater or Guildford stations during the work.

Passengers who need more help can call 1800 800 022 before travelling.
