A BASSENDEAN resident made a fashion statement while promoting a survey at the Old Perth Road Markets yesterday.
Anni Macbeth along with other residents, gathered at the markets to hand out surveys based on the town centre development plans.
Surveys were to be placed in the community gardens and later a street tree but a Town officer asked the residents to remove it.
Ms Macbeth said she attached the surveys to her body and wandered around the markets.
“I was outraged, so I decided I’ll be the tree,” she said.
“People would rip off the surveys and fill them out.
“I really enjoyed wandering around and I did not get abused by anyone.”
She said it was good to have discussions with the market goers.
“If the council had not taken down the tree, I would not have wandered around with the surveys,” she said.
The survey ends tomorrow.
