A GROUP of Bassendean residents have counted results from a survey about the town centre developments.
More than 700 people participated in the Save our Bassendean survey that finished on May 31.
Resident Anni Macbeth said the community responded quickly for a chance to express its opinion.
“The overwhelming response demonstrates that the community want to maintain open green public space here in the Town of Bassendean and not lose it to multi-story development as proposed by LandCorp,” she said.
“Over 90 per cent of respondents support the question on the survey requesting that the council pause LandCorp’s proposed development and update the Town Planning Strategy.”
The results also showed 95 per cent of respondents agreed to ask the council to preserve green open space.
