Bateman: Leach Highway fatal hit and run

POLICE believe a man found dead on Leach Highway in Bateman in the early hours of this morning may have been hit by a truck.

Police media spokesman Ryan Langley said officers received the report about 12.20am, arriving at the scene to find the body of a man, believed to be in his 40s.

“It is believed that the man may have been struck by a semi-trailer truck and received fatal injuries,” he said.

Investigating officers wish to speak with anyone who saw the crash or anyone with dash cam footage of the incident.

Main Roads has advised motorists to avoid the area, with Leach Highway closed westbound at Kwinana Freeway.
