A WATER play creek and net climber will be added to the six-month-old nature-based playground at Bayswater’s Bert Wright Park.

Lotterywest will provide $70,000 for stage two of the park’s upgrade.

It will include installation of a water play creek, drinking fountain, net climber, barbecue and picnic area, and pathways.

The works are set to add to the $100,000 City of Bayswater-funded nature playground completed in July last year, made mainly from recycled materials.

Bayswater Mayor Barry McKenna said the park encouraged children to use their imaginations.

“This upgrade will ensure that the park is a safe and educational place for children to play and will encourage them to use their imaginations during play time,” he said.

Stage two is due to start early in 2017.
