Bayswater Vehicle Fire

A BURNING van was extinguished in Bayswater after it was accidentally set on fire this morning.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services was contacted at 11.37am on Tuesday to help with the flaming vehicle at the corner of Guilford Road and Tonkin Highway.

A Department spokeswoman said a fire engine from Kiara Fire Station attended the blaze which was brought under control at 11.49am and put out at 11.55am.

She said the fire, which caused $10,000 worth of damage to the van, was deemed an accident and the vehicle was later towed from the scene.
