Bayswater: cat rescued after getting head stuck in bin

KIARA firefighters rushed to the aid of cat in Bayswater, rescuing the feline after it caught its head in a bin.

A member of the public called Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) 4.44pm Saturday, after they spotted the cat in distress near the corner of Wright Street and Raymond Avenue.

A DFES spokeswoman said a Kiara Fire Station crew, including fire truck, arrived in Bayswater at 4.56pm.

It took the crew six minutes to remove the cat from the bin.

The rescue occurred outside the City of Bayswater’s Dog Pound.
