BAYSWATER’S Tonkin Highway Industrial Estate was officially opened with a soil turning and tree planting ceremony on August 31.
Developer Linc Property’s 40-hectare estate on Railway Parade is 8km east of the Perth CBD, 3km from Perth Airport and provides connections to Roe, Reid, Great Eastern and Leach highways.
The estate features business lots with landscaping, public art, open space, street parking, food and coffee options.
Mayor Dan Bull, who led the opening event, said the estate would not only boost the local economy but deliver hundreds of local jobs.
“Over the past year we have seen a rising demand for land in the better located industrial precinct along with a significant rise in industrial pre-lease activity driven by increased confidence in the WA resource sector,” he said.
Linc Property director Ben Lisle said they enjoyed working with the City of Bayswater on the development, which helped the City to increase its tree canopy by 20 per cent over the next five years.
