Boy (12) in serious condition after being hit by car in Maylands crash

UPDATE: Police have called for anyone with information about a crash in Maylands in which a 12-year-old boy was injured to come forward.

The Bayswater boy was hit by a Hyundai Getz being driven east along Whatley Crescent by a 22-year-old female driver.

The crash happened near the intersection of Caledonian Avenue.

The driver stopped at the scene.

EARLIER: A 12-year-old boy is in a serious condition in hospital after a crash in Maylands last night.

The boy was hit by a car while on foot on Whatley Crescent at 5.45pm.

Officers are investigating the circumstances of the crash, but no charges have been laid.

A St John Ambulance spokesman said the boy was transported under Priority One conditions to Princess Margaret Hospital, where he remains this morning.
