The Dianella resident and former St Andrew’s Grammar School student is now preparing to start a degree in engineering at the University of WA in February.

Admitting to having to study hard to get the results, Dylan said it was equally important for him to have some down time.

“I had to study a lot, but I still had breaks and relaxed,” he said.

“My advice to other students would be to study hard but always get your sleep, exercise and eat well.”

Dylan said he would shoot hoops in his backyard or pick up a guitar to de-stress.

“I just started learning the guitar a few months ago as a hobby,” he said.

Dylan’s score is impressive but he had some healthy competition form his friends and fellow schoolmates, who achieved scores in the 90s.

“We are all close friends and helped each other out; one of the girls, my girlfriend, helped me out with English,” he said.

Dylan had a much-needed two-week overseas holiday with his family after exams were over, refreshing him for the six-year university course ahead of him.

After being at St Andrew’s Grammar School from kindergarten through to Year 12, he said he would miss it.

“It’s like a second home, I’ve been there all my life,” he said.
