Budding young artists feature in community calendar

Kristie LimEastern Reporter

FROM sketches to photography, some of the City of Bayswater’s most talented students will have their works featured in the 2019 Bayswater and Noranda Bendigo Community Bank branches calendar.

At the bank’s annual general meeting on November 5, 13 primary and secondary students won a competition with more than 50 entries.

Each winner received $100 and had their artwork published in the calendar.

A judging panel consisting of Councillor Catherine Ehrhardt, Baysie Rollers member Jimmy McGregor and sculptor Len Zuks had the difficult task to pick the winners.

Senior branch manager Sean Kay said it was great to see the entrants reflected the community through their artwork.

He thanked parents and teachers who encouraged the students to enter the competition.

The bank will run another calendar competition next year.
