Charge laid over alleged Christmas Eve stabbing in Bassendean

A MAN has been charged over an incident on Christmas Eve that left another man with half of his face paralysed.

Police allege a 51-year-old man and a 50-year-old man became involved in a physical altercation at the corner of Anzac Terrace and Mickleton Terrace in Bassendean just after 11pm on December 24.

During the altercation it is alleged the 51-year-old man stabbed the victim to the neck.

The victim was taken to Royal Perth Hospital and underwent surgery.

The 51 year old man of Bassendean has been charged with committing an unlawful act with intent to harm (endangering life, health or safety of any person).

He is due to appear before the Midland Magistrates Court today.
