City of Bayswater receives Federal grant to upgrade roads in Dianella and Morley

ROADS in Dianella and Morley are set to be repaired and upgraded after the City of Bayswater received more than $350,000 in funding from the Federal Government.

Light Street in Dianella, Jakobsons Way to Walter Road West, Peters Place and Smith Street in Morley will be upgraded.

Stirling MHR Michael Keenan said several roads were being resealed to make them safer for residents.

“Road resealing is an important step in ensuring our local roads stay safe and useable,” he said.

“Under the Federal Government’s Roads to Recovery Program we are supporting the City of Bayswater so that they have the ability to fix and upgrade local roads that are a priority.

“By improving road conditions we alleviate the risk of damage to motorist’s cars and create safer conditions for local road-users and businesses.”

Bayswater Mayor Barry McKenna said the funding was critical to the preservation of the City’s road network.

“An efficient, well maintained local road network is vital in creating connected communities,” he said.

“In preserving our local roads we are ensuring they remain safe for everyone to use.”
