A MAYLANDS event has been recognised as the community event of the year by the Department of Sport and Recreation at its industry awards last month.

The City of Bayswater and Inclusion WA’s fourth Have a Go Day won the award, for its event held at The RISE, attended by 1000 people.

The event aimed to give local clubs an opportunity to promote themselves and increase membership by allowing the community to have a go at an activity or sport they may not have encountered before.
