Development gets go-ahead

The agreement between LandCorp, the Swan Districts Football Club and the Western Australian Football Commission opens the door to revitalising the town centre. The first step is to examine the potential to develop previously under-utilised land on the west side of Bassendean Oval and the iconic Swan Districts Football Club.

Cr Gangell said redevelopment of the precinct was long overdue.

‘At this stage we are going through the estimated cost of getting a plan done. First and foremost we have to develop the strategy to be costed and funded and from that stage I think it will be all systems go,’ Cr Gangell said.
