Kristie LimEastern Reporter

DOGS can join their owners in doing the Salute to the Sun at the City of Bayswater’s Doggo’s in the Park mini-festival.

The festival will include a Dog Yoga session, dog storytime, a dog costume competition, bubble station, craft area and bubble station at Bert Wright Park on October 3 from 2pm to 4pm.

Dogs must be kept on lead and any dogs requiring muzzles by law must be wearing one at all times.

Soulshine Yoga Perth instructor and Yokine resident Sam Wright will hold a 45-minute session for dog owners and non-dog owners.

She said it would be her first dog yoga session after conducting kitten yoga in the past.

“It is going to be all-inclusive for all ages and a bit of fun,” she said.

“I am expecting everyone to have their dogs with them so we can practise with our dogs by our side.

“I think if it is their companion, they are going to feel a little bit more at ease (because) animals are nice and calm.

“I will probably incorporate the dogs a little bit if I can.”

Mayor Dan Bull said the mini-festival would celebrate “everyone’s best friends”.
