Driver of Beechboro hit and run asked to come forward by police

TRAFFIC Enforcement Group officers are investigating a hit and run crash in Beechboro on December 12.

About 5.30pm, a 14-year-old boy and his sister were walking along Altone Road.

At the intersection of Altone and Benara roads, the boy crossed the road at the pedestrian crossing but against a red light.

He did not see a car approaching in the right lane and jumped on to the bonnet to avoid being hit.

When the car stopped, he fell off the bonnet on to the road and struck his head.

The driver of car, believed to be a white Toyota Corolla or similar, did not stop and drove away.

The boy received minor injuries and sought treatment at Midland Hospital where he spent the night under observation.

Police would like to speak to the driver and anyone who may have seen the incident.
