Drugs, stolen property recovered after raid on Maylands home

BAYSWATER Police recovered $20,000 worth of stolen goods and drugs this morning from a house on Guildford Road, Maylands.

Occupants of the house, a 59-year-old man and a 46-year-old man, were arrested at the scene.

A $3000 road bike, five laptops, two tablets and Nikon camera were among the stolen items while 30g of marijuana and 1g of methamphetamine was also recovered.

The bike was identified as having been stolen from a Perth café on January 6.

Detective Sergeant Courtney Solly said police identified a house where they had intelligence the occupants were exchanging drugs for stolen property.

“We’ve had a crime spike in burglaries and stealings from motor vehicles in Maylands and Bayswater,” she said.

“We’re trying to proactively target the offenders in this particular area and finding a house like this where a lot of stolen property is contained is certainly a big win for the police station.”

The men have been charged and will attend court at a later date.
