CUSTOMER connections have led to a jump in sales for Maylands boutique Look Feel Be (LFB) after one of its designer dresses was featured on the grand final episode of television show The Block.
Owner Caroline Johnston said that to her delight, one of her loyal customers approached her about the possibility of dressing contestant Ebony Haythornthwaite.
“Our regulars Yvette and John Feasey asked if we would be interested in dressing Ebony and naturally we said yes,” Ms Johnston said.
“John had been working with Ebony in between the finish of the show and the finale week at Furniture Gallery.
“He knew she’d be a perfect role model and LFB brand stylist.”
LFB stylist Vanessa Foynes agreed, adding the team loved the thought of collaborating with Ebony.
“She is a down-to-earth, classic beauty who has fab curves and, as it appeared on the telly, a great attitude – values we hold dear,” Ms Foynes said.
“When we met Ebony she came with a clear vision.
“Four fittings later the Ebony Dress was ready.
“The suspense of the show had people on edge and certainly added to the interest in the characters – Luke and Ebony.
“And the little black, |vintage-styled dress sent social media into a frenzy and sale demands streaming in from all over the country, with additional requests for us to open in Melbourne.”
Mrs Johnston said due to demand, Ms Haythornthwaite agreed the team could re-create her bespoke dress and fulfil orders.
“She is beyond excited at the result of her win, yet we believe she has been really touched by everyone’s comments on how beautiful she looked and we were touched by how beautiful she and Luke behaved under such pressure,” Mrs Johnston said.
The dress is available online for pre-ordering and will be in store February.
