Eden Hill: Mary Crescent Reserve to be home to nature-based playround

Kristie LimEastern Reporter

AN ageing playground at Mary Crescent Reserve in Eden Hill will be revamped into a nature based-playground by February 2019.

At last month’s council meeting, Bassendean Council unanimously voted to grant landscaping company Phase3 Landscape Construction Pty Ltd the tender to supply, install and construct the playground.

In July, the council allocated $250,000 in capital funds towards the project as part of the 2018-19 budget.

While Phase3 was yet to develop design plans for the district-wide playground, the installation of play equipment was expected to take about 12 weeks.

Mayor Renée McLennan said some equipment would be removed from the existing playground while some would remain and be added to.

The basketball back board, hoop and swings are planned to stay.
