Elderly woman killed in Dianella in day of road carnage

AN elderly woman was killed last night when she was struck by a motorcycle while crossing Morley Drive in Dianella.

About 7:50pm a black Kawasaki motorcycle struck the 86-year-old, who was crossing the road near Tame Court.

She suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital but later died.

The rider, a 24-year-old male from Morley sustained non-life threatening injuries and was also conveyed to RPH for treatment.

The incident was the third in a horror day on Perth roads.

There was another on Marshall Road, Malaga.

About 6:15pm a silver Hyosung motorcycle was travelling west near Beringarra Avenue when it hit a street sign.

The 29-year-old male rider from Lockridge sustained life-threatening injuries and was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital by SJA.

He remains in a critical condition.

Meanwhile, a 66-year-old man died and two other people were injured when two trucks and a car collided in Banjup.

About 3:50pm, a collision occurred between a white Caterpillar truck, a silver Toyota Camry sedan and a white Hino truck near the intersection of Jandakot and Warton roads.

All vehicles were travelling in the same direction.
